Project-based learning

Many people ask how to start learning something new. Most of the time, people answer that they should try out project-based learning, and in this article describes why this is one of the best approaches for learning.

Why is the school system wrong?

Decades ago, when the government built the education system, it had a single aim — teaching their future workers discipline. Students must sit on their chair at 8:00 and are only allowed to talk if the teacher talks to them. Students can only eat after the pause sound plays.
Workers must be at their working place at 8:00 and should only eat when the pause sound plays. There is a pattern which still exists today. The focus is not on effective studying.

With modern technologies like the web, everyone can learn what they want and not what the school and boring books teach.

Why is project-based learning the best

“Go find a project and search for everything you need”, is the most heard sentence after asking “How do I start?”. It has a reason. The human brain learns the most by figuring it out on its own.

We can not read a book and become instant experts in programming. We need training. Train the brain. Watch YouTube tutorials about the current project every evening. Collecting knowledge every evening will keep a project going, with enough new ideas. It is okay to stop a project, but not trying it is the worst thing to do.

Doing this is easy, as long as the person knows how to use Google. School should teach how to use search engines like Google properly.

Conclusion

Use the web as an advantage over the traditional school system. Use it and learn what full.
